The environmental health section of the health department is part of the Local Environmental Protection Program funded by Kansas Water Plan. As we are part of a group of seven counties in North Central Kansas, we handle a majority of the calls by appointment. The primary focus of this office is Sanitary Code enforcement and compliance. Sanitary Codes are available at the County Health Department Office. The sanitary codes are meant to ensure sanitary living through the use of permitting private water well and wastewater system usage. This office will also handle other environmental problems on a case-by-case basis.
